As a Psychic Medium with Clairsentience I'm often asked about how I do what I do. I think this conceptualization is misleading: as a spirit medium, I don't believe that I do anything. Rather, it is the spirit, who communicates and provides evidence that there is life after death. I think of myself more as a language interpreter: I merely perceive the language of the spirit and try my best to put it into terms, which will hopefully make sense to the sitter.
You may be surprised to learn that the spirits of our loved ones in the Afterlife do not communicate in the same way, which we do. This makes sense, though, given that they are no longer constrained by a physical body. Spirits communicate with a spirit medium through the medium's "clair" senses--an extra set of senses, which we all possess and can develop if we so choose. One of these "clair" senses is clairsentience, which means "clear feeling", and is one of the primary means, by which the loved ones and pets of my clients tend to communicate with me. They will often not immediately show me memories and scenes from their physical lives but will instead often first make me feel an emotional connection, which they have to the sitter, or the type of relationship they had with the sitter. For example, a mother might make me feel as though I am being hugged tightly or kissed on the forehead when I feel scared. From that point, she may begin showing me through clairvoyance ("clear-seeing") various memories she had of her lifetime in the physical world, how she dressed and wore her hairstyle, or may even make me psychically taste ("clairgustance") a dish, which she often prepared for family and friends--evidence that life in fact continues beyond this physical existence.
Our loved ones in the physical world always remain connected to us through the love they have for us, and love is the only constant in the Universe--it connects all of us and cannot be destroyed. It is the essence of who we are as individuals and who we are collectively as part of the Source of all, that is.
